Target Practice Reflection
What I did using the target practice method was similar to one of the given suggestions: Try to catch a piece of Smarties candy in my mouth by tossing it in the air. I managed to catch it on the fourth try, which seemed a bit too easy for this assignment, so I aimed instead for three in a row to actually refine my technique. My next try was an immediate failure, because I had put too much power into the throw, but the throw after was a success. The next toss also a success, and the one after, a failure. I had not put enough power into the throw to be able to catch it properly. Failure after failure, I noted that I was either overshooting or undershooting. When I got down to the last three smarties in the Halloween-sized box, I knew I either had to nail it or open up another box and waste more smarties, which is something I was not willing to do. Taking into account how much power I had to put behind the throw, I made sure to throw the smarty (smartie?) perfectly each time, and managed to land three in a row with the last of the smarties. It was a fun little exercise and helped put the whole “target practice” learning experience into perspective for me.
