End of Semester Reflection
Some of the goals I gave myself at the start of the semester was to become more confident when performing and become better at violin. I have grown slightly in regards to the latter goal but I have not had much in the way of performance opportunities to work towards the first goal. My focus changed from confidence in performance to simply improving at my violin playing. A common challenge I faced this semester was time management. Because university comes with so many assignments, I have had issues finishing them on time and balancing practice. I simply learned to prioritize assignments based on due dates, where I would focus each assignment down based on which was due first. I still struggle with procrastination, however. I think a good thing for me to work on next semester would be to stop procrastinating so much. As for the mantra regarding stopping this habit, I think “No, you can’t push working on your procrastination back to tomorrow” would be a good mantra to live by for a little while.
